Street artists took over Bay Street in Downtown LA for a great cause: supporting homeless and trafficked youth in Los Angeles. The idea was conceived by artist and Ethos Contemporary Art gallery owner, Georgeana Ireland.She issued a “Street for Streets” challenge and the artists created art live in front of a socially distanced audience.
“The idea was to share art that is usually created in the dark of the night with a live audience, to support a worthy cause,” says Georgeana. The Charity event kicked off its current show on the topic, Street Culture. The show opened in December and is virtual due to Covid-19.
The live art event was held Sunday Oct 25th in the South Arts District, Downtown LA, the art was auctioned off online and supported Covenant House, Los Angeles.
“This is just the beginning,” says Georgeana. “I, like many other artists, have faced adversity. It is my hope to inspire youth at this delicate crossroad in life. Some of the most successful people came from disadvantaged backgrounds.”Participating artists: Artlord, Punkmetender, Not.Travis, MRSN, Kar-Part, LeCash, Amber Goldhammer, Pitch Black, Georgeana Ireland, Dennis Ouch, Russian Doll, CC Ireland, Dave Krovblit and Thanx Zoe.
Ethos Contemporary Art continues to support Covenant House and homeless youth with its show “Street Culture” through the end of the year.Ethos Contemporary Art gallery was established in 2014 and has galleries in Los Angeles, Newport Beach and Palm Springs.
